KNOXVILLE – Congratulations to Julie Waltenberger, Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab, for being selected the KHC Hero of the Month.
“Julie goes beyond her job description in trying to make Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab accessible to her patients. If that means coming early or staying late to accommodate patient’s work schedules, she finds a way to do that. Her main goal is to constantly improve her patient’s health, whether it’s through education, calling their physician for further evaluation or just talking with them and discussing what is going on in their lives right now. Having patients with many varied health issues, Julie educates herself about each patient coming in and how best she can benefit each individual. One day she needed a specific instrument to measure a high risk patient’s blood pressure. She got the device needed, but because of a different connection, it did not work as needed. She figured out what was wrong and got it to work. The patient was pleased to see how much care she took to provide excellent care in even a small way,” commented a co-worker.
Other employees nominated in September were Jennifer Miles, Elly Shaw, Rosie Reid, Lori Major, Sue Flander, Heidi Smith, Veronica White, Jennifer Martinache, and Carrie Rempe.
