KNOXVILLE – With sounds of the 70s floating through the air, the 12th annual Knoxville Hospital & Clinics (KHC) Foundation Gala was held on Saturday, November 4 at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame. Funds raised from the event will go towards the purchase of a new equipment for the ENT (ears, nose, and throat) services at KHC.

Going with the 70s theme, throughout the room you’d see a mix of attendees dressed in their vintage 70s attire. Votes were casted throughout the evening for best dressed 70s attire and 2017 attire. Chief Clinical Officer, MaryJane Hunt and Norb and Nancy Greiner were voted best dressed 70s and Foundation Coordinator, Katrina Nelson, was voted best dressed 2017.

Entertainment this year was provided by trio, Thistle and Lace. Attendees enjoyed listening and dancing to a wide repertoire of music with a splash of 70s music mixed in.

“We are very pleased with the way everything turned out for the Gala this year,” stated Katrina Nelson, Public Relations & Foundation Coordinator at KHC. “This has become a unique and exciting event for Knoxville community and we are happy that we can continue planning a fun night where individuals learn more about our Foundation and we can raise money for a good cause.”

Twelve years ago, the Foundation began the tradition of honoring an individual(s) in the Knoxville community with the McKeever Award of Excellence in honor of longtime physician, Dr. Earl McKeever. The recipient of the award is honored for exhibiting an act of excellence through their dedication and commitment. This year Steve and Tresa Mott were awarded the McKeever Award of Excellence. Together the husband and wife duo donate countless hours of volunteerism to hospital, city, school, and church functions and responsibilities.
