KNOXVILLE – Congratulations to Rechelle Gamble, Case Manager/Transition Coach, for being selected the KHC Hero of the Month at Knoxville Hospital & Clinics.
“Rechelle did an awesome job with accommodating a patient and her family. A patient was seen in the clinic and needed nursing home placement after not succeeding at living independently at home. Rechelle worked so well with the patient’s son, giving him step by step information on how to proceed with doing this. This patient was not safe to go home and the son could not get to Knoxville because of bad weather conditions where he lived. Rechelle worked well with Lisa (Oldham) and the son to make arrangements for the patient to spend the night in the hospital and make a safe transition to the nursing home the next day. This is what the case managers do every day. I just happened to be able to witness her in action and appreciated her compassion and calmness with the son during a stressful time for this family,” read her nomination.
Rechelle will be in the running for KHC Hero of the Year in May 2019.
The other employee nominated in June was Kevin Swartzendruber.
