This is a Full-Time position working Mon – Thurs, in the Red Rock Health Clinic in Pella with rotations in the Knoxville Clinic
The RRHC Certified Medical Assistant will work under the supervision of a physician. The Certified Medical Assistant supports the physician and other providers in delivering high-quality health care and scheduling needs to Clinic patients.
Essential Functions
- Obtains current and accurate demographic and insurance information
- Makes patient appointments appropriately according to templates and insurance.
- Validates the status of insurance.
- Makes appropriate referrals to assist the uninsured population.
- Performs telephone duties as required and routes calls to appropriate staff. Routes messages appropriately per protocol.
- Room patients, identify and documents chief complaint, allergies and medications.
- Measure and record vital signs, weight and measurement.
- Provide immunizations, injections and medications under the supervision of the provider.
- Perform preventative health screenings and nursing treatments.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
- Assure patients are seen in and orderly and fair manner.
- Explain delays and waiting times.
- Ensure that acutely ill or injured patients are triaged and seen first.
- Notifies patient of lab/imaging results.
- Complete room outdate checks and restock exam rooms.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant from an accredited organization.
- Previous clinic experience preferred.
- Current BLS and Mandatory Reporter Certification
