KNOXVILLE – The string of bad luck of not winning things finally ended for Steve Wilson, Knoxville, on Saturday, August 15 when he won a Harley Davidson motorcycle courtesy of the Knoxville Hospital & Clinics Foundation.
Knoxville Hospital & Clinics received the motorcycle from Cobblestone Hotel and Suites after they were awarded it when receiving Property of the Year this past spring. The Knoxville Hospital & Clinics Foundation sold raffle tickets at various events throughout the summer. Wilson’s ticket was drawn as the winner and announced during the finale of the Knoxville Nationals.
Although he was not present when his winning ticket number was announced, he received many phone calls from friends that evening saying he had won.
“I have never won anything before so I thought someone was playing a joke on me,” said Wilson. “I really didn’t believe anyone until I received the phone call from Kevin [Kincaid, Knoxville Hospital & Clinics CEO], and even then I thought someone put him up to it.”
The motorcycle raffle generated $18,638 for the Knoxville Hospital & Clinics Foundation. The funds will be used for additional upgrades at Knoxville Hospital & Clinics.
