Knoxville Hospital & Clinics Awards Annual DAISY Award to Ami Morgan, RN

KNOXVILLE, IA – Ami Morgan, a Registered Nurse in the Infusion Center at Knoxville Hospital & Clinics, was recognized with the organization’s tenth annual DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

The DAISY Award recognizes an individual’s dedication to the nursing profession, patients, and their family members. The award was founded in 1999 in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 from complications of ITP (Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura), thus giving name to award “Diseases Attacking the Immune System” DAISY.

Ami has been employed at Knoxville Hospital & Clinics for five years. In the nominations, Ami was cited for her heart and soul and dedication to her patients.

“Ami is kind, compassionate, and dedicated to her patients in the Infusion Center. She advocates for their health and goes above and beyond to ensure every need is met even if that means adjusting her schedule to meet their needs.  Ami is meticulous with her care to be sure the high-risk infusions she administers each day are safe and given appropriately to improve the health of her patients.  Patients and families are often heard talking and laughing with Ami as they receive care. She takes the time to sit down and listen to not only their health needs, but the social and emotional needs as well.  Ami is a great asset to Knoxville Hospital & Clinics and exemplifies what it means to be recognized as a Daisy Award Winner,” read a nomination.

Each year, the Knoxville Hospital & Clinics Operations Team selects a DAISY Award winner from nominations submitted throughout the year. Previous Knoxville Hospital & Clinics Daisy Award winners include Cheryl James, Holly Shinn, Kellie Jones, Sandy Cupples, Elizabeth Hembrook, Leah Sims, Rachel Davis, Deb Leffler, and Dawn Bender.
