At Knoxville Hospital & Clinics, we are excited to offer Live Well - Prevent Diabetes,

a pilot diabetes prevention program. By joining, you will have access to:
• A trained lifestyle coach
• A CDC-approved curriculum proven to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes
• A supportive group of peers just like you
Life is busy – but staying healthy is essential for the things that matter most: your family, work, hobbies, and future plans, including retirement! If you have prediabetes, now is the time to take action and make preventing type 2 diabetes a priority.
The Live Well - Prevent Diabetes program meets weekly for the first two months, then shifts to twice a month for the rest of 2025, providing support every step of the way.

Together, we will cover topics including healthy eating, physical activity, weight management, stress management, and staying motivated - everything you need to make lasting lifestyle changes.

About the Live Well - Prevent Diabetes program

The Live Well – Prevent Diabetes pilot is a year-long program, running from January through December of 2025. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m., in the KHC Learning Center.

Classes will be a small group, interactive setting where participation is voluntary.
In-person attendance is preferred, however, a Zoom link option is available.
Cost to attend is free!

Laurynn Verry - MPP-D, RD, LD, CDCES

Laurynn is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. As a nutrition specialist, Laurynn is passionate about inspiring people to eat nutritious and delicious food to live a healthy and happy life.

Dietitians are the food and nutrition experts. Laurynn can assist you on your health and wellness journey for a variety of reasons – from providing individualized nutritional advice, to support in managing chronic diseases, such as diabetes, weight management, heart disease, food allergies, kidney disease, digestive issues, and more.

Laurynn received her bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Iowa State University where she also completed her dietetic internship and Master’s degree. She has a special interest in Diabetes Education, Sports Nutrition, and Eating Disorders. You can usually find her baking, reading a good book, or cuddled up with her dog.
