Infection Prevention

The main focus of Infection Prevention is the prevention, management, education, and control of disease by monitoring the use of implanted devices, disinfection of patient equipment, monitoring and supporting antibiotic stewardship, promotion of hand hygiene and vaccination, and working with the Iowa Department of Public Health. Prevention staff and all employees strive to ensure a healthy, safe environment for patients, as well as employees and visitors.
