This is a PRN (as needed) position. Hours and days will vary. Future rad tech students are encouraged apply.
Under the direction of the Supervisor, performs those duties involved with a variety of operational and technical procedures. You will be working with the Imaging department providing support to the licensed technologists to ensure promptness and efficiency, along with comfort and safety during the patient care process.
Essential Functions
- Assisting technologists with assorted duties including:
- Moving patients that are physically, or mentally handicapped.
- Assist in positioning patients
- Maintain the equipment
- Prepares rooms before and after the patient
- Cleaning the department/stock linens/infection control practices
- Assigns the proper patient consent form, if and injectable study is performed.
- Activating and placing radiology procedure orders
- Inventory management and outdates
- Assist in locating patient files
- Assists visitors and patients:
- Transports patients to and from the assigned areas
- Answers incoming phone calls
- Files and charts medical reports and related material.
- Transfer images and burn discs as needed
- Maintain record keeping and filing system according to department policy.
- Delivers radiographs to radiologists or physicians and retrieves them when appropriate.
- Performs those duties not requiring constant supervision or technical detail. Assumes responsibility for designated procedures with ingenuity and initiative as required.
- Provides clear communication to nurses and providers concerning protocols or other requests.
- Abides by HIPPA requirements.
- Must have a positive and helpful attitude.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Enrolled in an approved Radiology Technologist program.
This is a PRN (as needed) position and is eligible for retirement benefits through a 403b plan.
