This is a Full-time Days position working about 36 hours a week.
Under the general supervision of Director of Clinical Operations, the Specialty Clinic Scheduler is responsible for all activities surrounding appointments for specialty clinic patients and assisting with chart review/auditing, VA authorizations, faxes and scanning.
Essential Functions
- Has initial contact with the patient and is responsible for providing comprehensive, coordinated and seamless service to the patients.
- Returns phone messages to patients within 24 hours.
- Send patient questionnaires to patients for appointments.
- Schedules appointments for specialty clinic, and respiratory care
- Validates the status of insurance and assists with VA referrals/authorizations.
- Obtains prior authorizations for appointments and procedures as required.
- Make appropriate referrals to assist the uninsured population.
- Collaborate with providers and specialty staff for schedule needs.
- Coordinates and communicates specialty clinic schedules/records to home offices.
- Maintains overall understanding of specialty clinic functions and escorts patients and public to the proper destination.
- Conducts themselves to provide the best patient experience possible.
- Scanning/uploading/faxing of medical records
- Ability to multitask.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Preferred CNA
- High School Graduate or GED required
- Mandatory Report Training
- Computer skills required
- Insurance Knowledge is preferred
- Healthcare Background preferred
- Exceptional Customer Service skills required.
- Required to complete all annual competency training and maintain license and/or certification.
