Knoxville Hospital & Clinics to Begin Expansion and Renovation of Pleasantville Clinic

Knoxville, Iowa – Knoxville Hospital & Clinics (KHC) is reinforcing its commitment to Pleasantville with the expansion and renovation to the Pleasantville Clinic. Expansion will begin on June 24 and is expected to be completed in early 2026.

During construction, the Pleasantville Clinic will only be open on Mondays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brandi Booth, ARNP will see patients at the Knoxville Clinic location on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday until the project is completed in early 2026. Patients needing to schedule an appointment can continue to call (515) 848-3113.

Since taking over the clinic’s operations from Dr. Dennis Perryman in 2005, KHC has outgrown the current space due to the community’s support.

The construction of a 1,740 square-foot addition will expand the existing 1,800 square-foot clinic to almost double its current footprint to a total of 3,540 square feet. The project will include the addition of two exam rooms, expanded workspace, a larger restroom, and new flooring and furnishings. The exterior facade will also be updated to provide a cohesive connection to the new addition.

Discussions to expand the Pleasantville Clinic began in 2017 when Peoples Bank generously donated the former downtown bank building to KHC. In recent years, a significant amount of bank space has not been usable for clinical operations and KHC is excited for that to change. The expansion to the clinic will occur in the large portion of the bank building while McKay Group has relocated their Pleasantville office to the former vacant bank space.

“We will always be appreciative of Peoples Bank for their generous donation of the former bank building and have looked forward to the opportunity to expand our footprint in the Pleasantville community for many years,” said Kevin Kincaid, KHC CEO. “When we acquired the bank property, we envisioned another business utilizing some of the space and actively sought a people-based business to bring their services to the downtown square. We are excited about McKay Group becoming our neighbor and strengthening the downtown presence.”

The expansion and renovation will not only give the Pleasantville Clinic room to grow to meet the needs of the growing community but will also give KHC staff the opportunity to better provide patient services.

“We are really happy to provide services at the Pleasantville Clinic,” said Kincaid. “Those who work in health care are usually led by their hearts. They love helping people and have a love for the community. Providing access to health care is at the heart of what we do. For some people, if travel is required, unfortunately they go without the care they need, which can have a negative impact on their quality of life. We are proud to have this clinic in the community and only look forward to strengthening our relationship with the people of Pleasantville.”

Pleasantville native Brandi Booth, ARNP has been the primary care provider at the Pleasantville Clinic since 2007 and knows what the clinic means to the Pleasantville community.

“Pleasantville is my hometown. I am proud that we have this opportunity to expand the clinic to further meet the needs of the community,” said Booth.
