This is a Full-Time position working 36 hours a week with occasional Saturdays.
Clinic-based RN that assesses patients’ nursing care needs, evaluates effectiveness of care provided, and integrates nursing theory and research into clinical practice. Provide leadership to members of the nursing team to maintain patient care standards. Apply nursing theory to assess, diagnose, treat and evaluate patient responses. Analyze initial and ongoing assessment data to determine diagnoses and patient outcomes. Develop patient care plans based on observations and assessments and recommend interventions to attain expected outcomes. Collaborate and integrate information from patients and family into multidisciplinary patient care plan and evaluate responses.
Essential Functions
- Assist provider with office procedures.
- Under provider’s supervision, give medication and injections and immunizations.
- As directed by a physician, refill medications.
- Instruct patients on preparation for tests.
- Assure patients are seen in an orderly and fair manner and ensure that acutely ill or injured patients are triaged and seen first.
- Explain delays and waiting times.
- Exhibit cooperation and a positive attitude toward co-workers, providers, patients and visitors.
- Triage patients as the need arises.
- Positively contribute to department and organizations quality goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Must be a Registered Nurse with current registration and valid license with the Board of Iowa Nursing
- Previous clinic experience is preferred but not required.
- Must possess those technical skills associated with the tasks and function delineated under specific duties.
- Required to complete all annual competency training and maintain license and/or certification.
- Regular and predictable attendance is a required function of this position.
