Mammography/Rad Technologist – FT – $5,000 Sign on Bonus

This is a Full-Time position working Monday – Friday, with one holiday per year ON CALL. This position also includes a $5,000.00 sign on bonus. 

Responsible for producing high quality mammographic studies. General x-ray and CT studies on occasion. This position requires state licensure and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. R.T.(R)(M)(ARRT). CT accreditation is not required, but will prepare for board certification if desired.

Essential Functions

  •  Consistently checks equipment and supplies on a regular basis; Maintains Mammography/Xray/CT and other equipment in efficient operating order.
  • Follows MDSA and State of Iowa guidelines for Mammography Licensure.
  • Always completes Mammography/Xray/CT requisitions, obtains appropriate signatures for consents; completes procedure requests on outside physicians.
  • Consistently demonstrates competency and proficiency in patient care and radiology and mammography procedures.
  • Correctly schedules all special procedures and enters appointment data. Always directs the results of procedures to physician or hospital chart.
  • Maintains patient dignity and always respects patients’ rights. Communicates patient information, especially changes in condition in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily screening and diagnostic mammographic studies
  • Schedule all radiologic studies, ensuring correct orders and prior authorizations are obtained
  • Perform general radiology, CT, DEXA and fluoroscopy studies as necessary, to include minimal 3D reconstructions in CT
  • Effectively perform venipuncture for CT studies
  • Maintain courteous and respectful communication with all patients, staff, and off-site radiologists
  • Other duties as assigned by department leader.

Job Requirements

  • This position requires state licensure and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. R.T.(R)(M)(ARRT).

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology
  • Current registry in radiology and valid “permit to practice” with the State Department of
    Health.
  • Registry in mammography or willing to become registered within 12 months.
  • Required to complete all annual competency training and maintain license and/or certification.
