Knoxville Hospital & Clinics Foundation Makes $15,000 Purchase of Surgical Equipment

KNOXVILLE, IA – The Knoxville Hospital & Clinics (KHC) knows that local access to health care is essential for the health and wellness of rural Iowa residents. That is why we are committed to making continual enhancements to ensure the delivery of high-quality health care for area community members.

Most recently, the KHC Foundation made a donation of nearly $15,000 to purchase shoulder instrumentation allowing our surgeons – Drs. Mark Fish and Todd Peterson – to now perform shoulder surgeries, including total shoulders as well as shoulder scopes, at KHC.

“The shoulder instrumentation is essential to our surgery department and this purchase better allows us as an organization to serve the community,” said Tim Huffman, Surgical Services & Infusion Center Director at KHC. “We are extremely grateful to the KHC Foundation for helping out with this purchase. The donation not only allowed us to purchase a complete shoulder retractor set to provide our surgeons with optimal visualization, but also the instrumentation tray needed for the best outcomes possible.”

According to Huffman, the equipment ultimately assists KHC in delivering continued outstanding health care to area residents. “The shoulder instrumentation allows us to continue to provide the most advanced, efficient surgical care to our patients close to home.”

As a non-profit community hospital, KHC relies on the generosity of donations made to the Foundation to help ensure the hospital continues providing the setting, the people, and the modern tools to deliver quality care.
